Social inclusion

Children and non-majority groups – especially those from vulnerable communities – often have limited access to rights, services and opportunities, and their voice rarely reaches institutions.

The problem and our approach

Through the “ŠANSA” project with Save the Children Kosovo (supported by Sida), FDMC works to realise children’s rights in the municipalities of Gračanica and Ranilug, strengthening civil society organisations and institutional capacity.

Goals

  • Full realisation of children’s rights, with a focus on children at risk of exclusion
  • Strengthening civil society organisations and institutional capacity
  • Children and young people taking part in decisions that affect them

Activities

  • Info sessions and workshops with children and young people (Ranilug, Gračanica Innovation Centre)
  • Pilot child rights monitoring centre/hub in Gračanica municipality – two-day workshop on Brezovica (10–11 July 2026)
  • Assessment of FDMC’s organisational capacity (Brezovica, 15–17 May 2026) and a needs assessment of child rights protection mechanisms
  • Cooperation memoranda with Ranilug Municipality (April 2026) and Gračanica Municipality (October 2026)
  • Advocacy on displaced persons – input to the UN High-Level Panel on Internal Displacement (May 2020)
