Multiethnic cooperation
Trust and communication between communities in Kosovo remain a challenge. People need spaces where they can talk, debate and look for solutions together.
The problem and our approach
FDMC manages the Civic Energy Centre in Gračanica – the first service space in central Kosovo for civic initiatives and dialogue – and runs activities that connect people from different communities.
Goals
- Improve communication between the Serb and Albanian communities and across all communities in Kosovo
- Develop a culture of public debate and civic engagement
- Provide a space for citizens, vulnerable groups and displaced persons
Activities
- Civic Energy Centre Gračanica (opened 18 May 2019, initiated and funded by KFOS): debates, round tables, media conferences and gatherings
- Social Club Gračanica – debates on issues important to the community (within the “Gračanica Bridge Rewiring” project, supported by KFOS)
- Bridge Project (RIT Kosovo): young people from several communities learn English and cooperate
