On 13 October 2026, the Forum for Development and Multiethnic Collaboration (FDMC) held an information session with children and young people in the Ranilug library, dedicated to improving knowledge of children’s rights, how they are protected and why children’s active participation in community life matters.

The session was held with the wholehearted support of representatives of primary and secondary schools and the Municipality of Ranilug, confirming the importance of schools, local government and civil society working together to create a safe, encouraging and inclusive environment in which every child’s voice is heard, their opinion respected and their rights consistently upheld and protected.

Through an interactive exchange of views, children and young people talked about their rights, why it matters that their voices are heard, and the need for an environment in which every child feels safe, accepted and respected.

We believe children are not only holders of rights but important participants in building a community where their opinions are respected and taken into account.

The info session was part of the project “ŠANSA (Chance) – Children’s rights, community empowerment and inclusion”, implemented by FDMC in partnership with Save the Children Kosovo, with financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). Because every child deserves to be heard, protected and included.
