On 10 and 11 July 2026, FDMC held a two-day workshop at Hotel Brezovica on launching a pilot child rights monitoring centre/hub. FDMC implements the project “Advancing children’s rights and the self-reliance of vulnerable non-majority communities through strengthening civil society organisations, institutional capacity building and empowerment” in partnership with the national office of Save the Children Kosovo, with financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
The workshop aimed to present the concept and start a consultation process for establishing a pilot child rights monitoring centre/hub in Gračanica municipality. The initial vision of the mechanism was presented, its possible functions, structure and way of working were discussed, and the priority and framework of a future action plan were defined.
The pilot centre/hub is envisaged as an informal platform that will connect civil society organisations, youth representatives, experts and relevant institutions to systematically monitor the realisation of children’s rights, identify challenges, improve cross-sector cooperation and advocate for policies that better protect and promote children’s rights at the local level.
